SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Your guide greets you at your hotel at about 09:00 and then your walking tour begins in the capital of three great empires. The first plaace to visit is; TOPKAPI PALACE, the former imperial residence of the Great Ottoman Empire that they ruled for nearly 400 years. Today a spectacular museum, it is famous for its collections of treasury of the Ottoman Royal Family. You will chase with the memories of the Sultans and the Ottoman Empire through 400 years of the most glorious victories, happiest moments, and mournful days.(Visiting Harem part is optional- Please be aware it takes at least an hour to see)
After seeing Topkapi Palace, you walk to HAGIA SOPHIA on a cobblestone road filled with old Ottoman houses. This 6th century church, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture, welcomes you with its legends and mosaics. You have chance to touch deep into history by seeing this church, a main attraction of the city since it was built.
Then you have optional lunch break at a local restaurant that your guide leads you by considering your preferences.
After lunch you walk to BYZANTINE’S HIPPODROME: The former stadium and center of sportive and political activities of Constantinople. You will be able to see the Obelisk from Egypt, Serpentine Column from Delphi and fountain of Willhelm II. THE BLUE MOSQUE, also known as the Sultanahmet Mosque. One of the biggest mosque and principal adornments of Istanbul’s skyline.The Blue Mosque was built in the 17th century. Once you are inside the mosque, blue colored Iznik tiles and stained glasses surround you. The BASILICA CISTERN (Turkish: Yerebatan Sarayı - "Sunken Palace"), is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul. The cistern is located 500 feet (150 m) southwest of the Hagia Sophia on the historical peninsula of Sarayburnu, was built in the 6th century during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I.
The final stop is the GRAND BAZAAR. You get its historical information from your guide and some helpful tips on navigating more than 4000 shops. Your tour ends at approximately 16:30-17:00.
